Alex walked over to the little girl. Hey. What's your name? He asked the girl.

That's a nice name. I'm Dr. Wilhelm, and she's Dr. Audrey. It's nice to meet you. How old are you Erica? Alex asked.

Audrey waved as Alex introduced her. She smiled warmly at the little girl. "Seven..." Erica sniffled.

You're really tall for a seven year old. Alex said with a smile, So you don't want to get a needle right? He asked her.

Erica giggled slightly as Alex said she was tall. She then shook her head as she asked about the needle. Audrey just watched them. Alex was really good with kids.

Why don't you want to get it? Alex asked. He wanted to know if Erica had a reason for not wanting it or if she was just like him and didn't like them.

Erica wiped her eyes. "It hurts..." she murmured shyly. Audrey's heart broke for the little girl. Now that she had diabetes, she'd have to get these needles two or three times a day for the rest of her life.

This needle won't hurt much. It was made so that people that don't like needles don't mind it. You won't even feel it, I promise. If you just keep talking to me, and don't look at the needle, you won't even notice it. That's what I have to do when I get needles, and it works every time. Alex said to Erica.

"Do you promise?" Erica asked, very nervously.

Yup. I promise, and I never lie. Alex said. That was a lie though, he lied. He lied to Audrey quite a bit.

Erica hid her face against her mum. "I still don't want to get it..." she sniffled.

Alex smiled. It'll be fine. Just don't look at the needle and talk to me or your parents. If Dr. Kenmore doesn't tell you when she does it you won't even know that she's doing it. He said.

Audrey had already given Eric the injection when Alex was distracting her. She smiled. "I already did it when you and Dr. Wilhelm were talking." she said with a grin. "And now you can pick out a bandaid and a lollipop." Audrey grabbed the box of bandaids and showed it to Erica. She picked out a pink Barbie one and then took a red lollipop. Erica smiled as Audrey put the bandaid on. "Thank you!" she said, more to Alex than to Audrey. Audrey smiled softly.

Alex smiled. He hadn't even noticed that Audrey had given her the needle, but she had. See, you didn't even notice it. He said. He just smiled when she thanked them.
