((That again depends. If you go in your half seat, basically standing in your stirrups, it's not that bad but if you're a stupid-head like me that doesn't pay attention to Teddy on a hack and he bucks and you lose your stippups and he takes off then it's bumpy. lol. It doesn't feel all that different from a canter, sometimes I can't even tell if Teddy is cantering quickly or galloping slowly, until Robyn tells me to make him gallob because he's being a lazy-ass. lol))
Don't laugh at me. Shannon said, pretending that he had hurt her feelings. Then she giggled which totally showed that he hadn't hurt her feelings.

((lmao! They used to make us stand in our stirrups while walking the horses. It hurt a lot! lmao!))
Josh laughed. "Anybody would laugh at that little fall you just took." he said with a smile. He fixed the stirrups, girth, and took the reins down over Rocky's head. He started to walk back towards the barn.

((Walking isn't that hard if you hold onto the mane, trotting is harder but if you hold the mane it isn't as hard, and cantering and galloping are easier. lol))
Shannon smiled. She walked back to the barn with Josh, but she looked at her watch first to see how much time she had to get home. She'd have to leave in about half an hour if she was going to walk back, but if she could get a ride she could wait about 45 minutes.

((lol. we held the mane and it wasn't hard. it just hurt! lmao!))
Josh smiled and untacked Rocky. He put him in the cross ties and brought his grooming kit over. "Do you want to learn how to groom him?" he asked.

((lol, it's hard on the heels at first, and the calfs, but when you have to do it during your warmup for 5 minutes straight every lesson it gets less hurtening. lol. is hurtening even a word?))
Shannon watched as Josh untacked Rocky. When he asked if she wanted to learn how to groom him she nodded. She did want to learn. She wanted to learn anything she could about horses.

((hurtening is a word in my vocabulary! lmao! yeah. it really hurt my thighs and calves at first but it got better))
((I dont feel like typing this all out because I know nothing about grooming horses))
Josh smiled. "We're not gonna bathe him today because he was bathed yesterday but we'll give him a good grooming." he said with a smile.

Okay. Shannon said.

Josh smiled and showed her all of the grooming equipment. He told her what each of them did and what order they are used in.

((lol, you're lucky you didn't have to muck. The only time I will muck is after I get a horse all purty for a show, I would hate to come back in the morning and see manure all over them. lol. Luckilly there is payed help and volunteers that do mucking, turnout, feeding, and some grooming for us. It's great. lol. When we move to the farm the horses will be living in a pen with the sheep so we still won't have to muck, but we'll have to feed and turn out. lol. It will be easier because they're right in our back yard though.))
Shannon watched as he explained the brushes. Now she knew that the plastic prickely brush was called a curry comb and you use it in circles to get out mud and wrinkles in horses coats. She now knew that the hard brush was called a dandy brush and you do little flicks on the horses coat everywhere but the face to get rid of dirt. She knew now that the softer brush was called a body brush and you used it everywhere to get rid of any extra dirt and to make the coat look nicer the same way as you used the dandy brush. She knew what a hoof pick was and to brush the mane, forelock and tail was pretty straightforeward.

((how long are they going to stay there? and who's farm is it? i know when u lived with your mom u had cows but i forget where you moved to))
Josh picked up the curry comb. He handed it to Shannon. "Try it just like I said." he told ehr with a smile.

((We're moving to Uncle Alfred's farm, where he has sheep, pigs and chickens. We're bringing the horses with us, but I'm gonna sell Teddy to Leslie because he won't be happy if he can't jump and since we'll just be able to hack he would hate that because he's a freak and gets scared at everything. I'll be able to ride him every week in my lesson though, and I'll have some docile old mule to ride at home. lol. And we'll probably be moving within a few weeks, and the horses will be coming shortly after.))
Okay. Shannon said, taking the curry comb. She brushed in circles on the horses body, not brushing his legs or face though because the brush would hurt them.

((aww! Don't sell him! Just keep him with leslie!!!)) ((by the way thanks for the grooming explanation! )) "Good. Just like that." Josh told her. Rocky stood perfectly still. He loved being groomed.

((But mom doesn't want to waste gas driving to the stable twice a day when we can just keep the horses at home. The only reason I'm staying where I am now is because I know we're not going to be out there almost every day in a little while. Did I tell you that Lori quit and started her own stable and every single boarder except for us went with her because Leslie's too much of a bitch? And no problem about the explination. lol))
Shannon smiled and continued brushing like she was.

((lol ya u told me about lori leaving. aww. if you sell teddy, what r u gonna do? buy another horse?))
"You'd be surprised how dirty Rocky gets after being in the pasture or even just being ridden." Josh said with a slight laugh. He gave Rocky a pat on his neck.

((Yeah, one that will like hacking and not mind not being able to jump. A calm horse.))
Shannon smiled. When it's all muddy outside I can imagine that he'd get quite distusting. And when it's really dusty. She said.
