Ava walked into Coffee Break. She loved their coffee. "One medium coffee with milk and sugar please." she said. The lady nodded. Ava payed the woman the $1.27 and took the coffee. She sat down at a table and added the sugar to her coffee. She stirred it. She took a sip of the boiling liquid and then grabbed the newspaper from the empty table beside her. She started to flip through it boredly as she drank her coffee.

CJ had been working on the Ranch all morning, sorting cows and loading hay. This was his break from work. He walked into the Coffee Shop that him and Anthony had visited yesterday morning. He ordered a coffee, black, then notice Ava. He smiled slightly. Mind if I join you? He asked with a smile.

Ava smiled and put down the paper. She was glad that there was someone there to talk to. She had been working her three horses, doing her barn chores and she taught two lessons. She was tired so she decided to take a quick break. "Hey. No. Go right ahead." she said with a smile.

He smiled slightly and sat down across from her. Setting his coffee before him. How has your morning been? He asked with a smile. He took a sip of the coffee then looked to her.

"Really busy." she said. "I had to groom Danny, Star, and Cloud, and then I had to muck their stalls and exercise them. Then I had to groom them again. After that I taught two beginner lessons which is never fun because half the time the kids and horses don't listen. So I thought I'd come here to relax a bit. How about you?" she asked.

He laughed softly at her buizy secdual. He smiled slightly. Buizy Buizy. He said with a smile. He thought for a moment before answering. I sorted some bulls and vacinated acouple. Helped Anthony sort and brand acouple of his, then loaded hay and feed everyone. And had to trim my ranch mares feet. But that was about it. He said with a slight smile. His day deffinatly less hectic than hers, but then again sorting cows could be pretty hard if you didnt know what you were doing.

"Wow. You do all that by yourself? We call in the farrier to trim our horses' feet and stuff. Come to think of it, Cloud needs that to be done. With her it's such a hassle though. She throws such a fit when they try to pick up her feet." she said. "She's a pain to groom and stuff like that." Ava did love the mare though.

He nodded slightly. I have to know how to do it. Incase a vet cant get out there in time. And Im actually a certified Vet and Farrier because at the first ranch I worked at you have to be certified. He replied. He nodded gently at the mention of house Cloud was fussy with her feet. I've done acouple horses like that before. There not alot of fun and it takes alot more time. He replied. Infact one of his ranch horses was like that.

"A certified vet? Wow. That's awesome! I know basic first aid when it comes to horses, dogs, cats, and other animals." she said. "Yeah. It sometimes takes our farrier an hour just to get one hoof done. Sometimes she acts so bad that we have to give her a slight sedative so she won't kick the man in the head! We dunno why she's so fussy with them."

He nodded gently. He knew exactly what she was taking about. They once had to sedate and lay a mule on its side and some guys sat on him, just to do his feet. He was the sweetest thing when his feet werent being messed with. Did you rescue her? He asked looked to her before sipping his coffee again.

"I got her from a riding school. They trained her harshly with crops and whips so she can't see one of those or she freaks. We also think they may have just neglected her or didn't groom her or clean her feet properly. We figured that when or if they did, she would have been sore and they weren't gentle so that's why she's so scared. We're not one hundred percent sure though." Ava told CJ. They weren't entirely sure of Cloud's history. All they knew was that they saw an ad for her in the paper, and they went and bought her to get her out of that hell hole.

He nodded gently listening to it all. It seemed resonable what that though. Sounds about right. I would hate my feet being messed with to if they were to hit me when I tried to pull my sore foot away. He replied, putting his own "Maybe" outcome of why she hated her feet being messed with and being groomed.

"Yeah. I don't blame her at all. She's getting better then she was though. When we first got her, she would fling her head around and bite, kick, rear, buck, anything she could to get away. She's even pulled so hard that the cross-ties snapped off her halter and she ran around the stable for half an hour! It was awful!" she said. That was an awful day. People had to rush to put their horses back in their stalls and then get out before someone got hurt! Eventually, Cloud tired herself out and Ava managed to throw a towel over her eyes and lead her back to her stall.

He smiled softly and shook his head gently. But she is better now right? How long have you had her? He asked with a soft smile. He had acouple abused horses before, and it took time but they came around and usually made the best horses. Though sometimes they were alittle flightly, they were still awsome.

"She's a sweetheart now. She would never bite, though, she still kicks and pulls when you try to groom her or pick her feet up. She's okay when I do it, but if I leave her in the cross-ties too long, she gets fidgetty. She's an attention hog though." Ava said with a smile. She sipped some more of her coffee and looked at CJ.
