Ana walked into the coffee shop alone. Sam was with Ana's mom for a few hours. Ana's birthday was coming up and her mom had decided that she should take Sam shopping to buy Ana a present. Ana ordered a coffee and then found an empty table to sit at. The place was pretty full, most people with friends or family, and Ana felt a bit odd sitting there alone. It was nice being able to just sit and think though, without having Sam or anyone to talk to her and interrupt her thoughts. Ana wouldn't mind having someone to talk to though. She loved to talk. Ana just sat there thinking, mostly about that guy she had seen around a few times. She really appreciated the fact that he had made Sam feel better when Pretty Boy had died.

Sawyer was sitting down by himself at a small table in the corner of the coffee shop. He was flipping through a newspaper and drinking his coffee, black. It was good for a hangover.

Ana got bored sitting there alone after a little bit and started to look around at people, just to see the different types of people in the coffee shop. She tried not to make it totally obvious though. She noticed that the man she had been thinking about was sitting in the corner alone. She stood up and walked over to him, noticing that almost as soon as she stood up her seat was taken. Once she reached his table she smiled, Hey. Do you mind if I sit down? She asked.

Sawyer peered at her over the top of the paper. "Free country." he said with a shrug. He then continued to read the paper, basically ignoring the woman's presence.

((Have you heard Hot in Here by Nelly?))
Ana sat down. She just watched the guy read the paper, she had nothing else to do. There was something about him that irritated Ana, but there was something about him she liked at the same time.

((hasn't everybody? )) Sawyer started to feel uncomfortable with the woman just sitting there while he read the paper. It wasn't so much that he was uncomfortable. It was that he was irrtated. He looked at the woman and folded up the paper. "Can I help you with something little darlin' or can you just leave me be?" he asked, in his normal cold tone.

((lol. Well like none of my friends have because they don't listen to the right station. lol. I love it!))
Ana was glad that he had finally folded up his paper. Even though the way he talked bugged her a bit, just the way that he always sounded kinda like he was mocking her, it was better than just sitting there in silence. Well, there is nowhere else to sit so I'm stuck here. She sadi.

((lol! it is so old! and it was such a hit! even my frends who hate nelly know that song! )) Sawyer shrugged and then sighed, knowing that he was stuck with her. "So where's your girl, mamacita?" he asked, in the same cold voice. ((thats what sawyer calls the girl who had a baby on lost. he calls her mamacita))

((like old grade 6 old. im in grade 10 now so like 4 years! )) Sawyer grinned. "Good. That means I can light up without being told off by a mini tattletale." he said smugly. He pulled out his carton of cigarettes and lit one. He took a deep puff and then blew a smoke ring.

((K, that's why I've never heard it. I just started listening to the Beat in like grade 9 I think. lol))
Ana giggled, Yup. All you have to worry about is the staff here, other than that you shouldn't have a problem. She said. She wasn't that fond of the idea of him smoking in the coffee shop, but she wasn't about to tell him not to.

((i never listen to that. it was just a very popular song and stuff i love it)) He shrugged and took another puff. He held that one for a few moments before slowly blowing out the grey smoke. "Yep. And they've got so many customers to worry about, they shouldn't even notice me. Say, what's with all you Canadians? 'Fraid of a little smoke?" he asked, being very sarcastic.

((lol))
No, it's just that some people are allergic to smoke, and second-hand smoke kills a lot of people. If you must smoke, you're supposed to do it outside, rather than send the people that smoke bothers outside. Ana said. She had explained the whole thing to Sam a few times already.

Sawyer stopped and looked at her for a moment. "Jeez, sweetie. That sounds awfully rehearsed. You one of those high-hats that works for the government?" he askedm sarcastically, blowing another perfect smoke ring.

I have a daughter that is very curious about everything. I've had to explain the smoking thing to her a good few times. Ana said.
