Sawyer grabbed her arm and pulled her so that she was now sitting on the couch. "You just need to take it easy. I know you're upset. Give it a little time. Just relax and sleep or something. You look awful right now and I wouldn't exactly trust you behind the wheel of a car or cooking on a stove." he said.

Ana rested her head against Sawyer's shoulder. But I don't want to be upset. She said.

Sawyer just allowed Ana to rest her head on his shoulder. He didn't hug her or anything. He never let himself get too close to "broads" as he put them. "I know. You will be though. It's just natural." he said.

Ana sighed. She really hated being sad.

I know- it's just.. It seems like all guys I come in contact with are dying. First Chris, then my old dog Scruffy, then Pretty Boy and now dad. I can't help but think "who's next?" And they all have something to do with Trenton. Chris died on the way home from Trenton, I got Scruffy in Trenton when I was eighteen, Pretty Boy's cage came from Trenton, and daddy died in Trenton. Ana said, starting to cry again. She knew that the connection between Pretty Boy and Trenton wasn't really that great a connection, but everyone else had something to do with it so she had found a way to connect Pretty Boy to it too.

"Hey, hey. This isn't your fault. And it's not Trenton's fault, wherever that is. Sometimes, these things just happen." he said. "Don't cry sweetie." Sawyer gently rested his hand on her forearm and squeezed it slightly, just letting her know he was there for her.

Sawyer squeezed her arm a little tighter. "I know. It's hard. It's going to be really hard, but, it'll be okay. You'll learn to deal with it." he assured her.

Sawyer sighed. "Come here..." he said softly, wrapping his arms around her tightly. "It's gonna be alright. I'm right here."

Ana rested her head against Sawyer's chest and just sobbed.

Sawyer held Ana tightly and just stroked her hair. "Shh... It's okay... It'll be alright..." he murmured softly, trying to get her to stop crying.

Ana just continued to cry. Those words meant pretty much nothing to her any more, she had heard them so many times already and it had still been incredibly hard.

Sawyer sighed and hugged Ana a little tighter. "I know that nothing I say will make you feel any better, but, just trust me. Things will be okay, Ana." he said softly.
