But I don't want him to be dead. I love him. Ana cried.

Sawyer sighed. "Hell, I know you do girl. He was your daddy. Course ya loved him! It hurts when we lose the people we love, but we learn to deal. Hell. I was twelve when my grandpappy died. It hurt a lot. My daddy wouldn't even let me cry. Says boys don't cry. Cryin's for skirts. Well I'm telling you right now sweets. You cry as much as you damn well want. Ain't nobody gonna stop you. You cry until you feel better." he said.

I don't get that, guys should be able to cry if they need to. They shouldn't be ridiculed for crying. Ana said, continuing to cry, but not so much that she couldn't talk any more.

"I dunno. I'm not one of those touchy-feely tree-hugging freaks but I think that when someone dies and you're a young kid like that, you can cry." he said. He hugged Ana a little tighter. "I hate seeing people cry but sometimes it helps ya know?"

Sawyer softly rubbed Ana's back. "How you feeling, sweets?" he asked.

Not good at all. Ana answered truthfully.

Sawyer sighed. "Is there anything I can do?" he asked, continuing to rub her back.

Not really.. Nothing more than just being here for me. Ana answered.

Sawyer nodded and continued to rub her back. "As long as you need me." he said.

Ana did need Sawyer with her. She was really glad that he had been jogging in the park. I still can't believe that he's really gone. She said, barely louder than a whisper.

Sawyer nodded and ran his fingers through her hair softly. "I know." he whispered.

Ana continued to cry, softly now though. She felt so alone, except for Sawyer, Sam and her mom. Everybody else was dead.

Sawyer held Ana tightly. "I'm right here. I'm not leaving..." he said very softly.

Ana was glad that Sawyer wasn't going to leave her. She really needed him right now. She buried her face in his chest and started to cry harder again. She couldn't believe that he dad was dead. It just wasn't fair. She breathed in all the smells from Sawyer as she had her nose so close to him. Some of it wasn't the nicest smell in the world, he had been running for over an hour, but there was a nice smell too.
